My Bio

I have always loved Osprey military history books because of their illustrations. One day I discovered the juniorgeneral.org website by chance around 2010, and joined them in 2011. I have been doing pixel art since then, in a quite wide setting: from high and low fantasy settings for a tabletop RPG, to illustrations of ships and vehicles.

I primarly focus on the spanish History, as I do not see many things about the theme around the net, despite having such a rich and interesting past.

You may use my work for your own website, work, report or whatever, while you do not recieve any money for them asking for permission me first.

You may also want to drop any request or topic that might be interesting to see in pixel art or illustration, feel free to comment below, but remember that I might, or may not take the request, as I do this for free, unless you want to ask me for a commision, then, send me a message or contact with me via e-mail: contacto.levan@gmail.com

Most of you who follow me have probably noticed I am not the most regular uploader ever, but I have tried to keep at least a piece per month, some even two or three. Of course, most of these have been done in my free time, as a hobby, you could say. Thankfully, a recent commission came up (you can see it in my gallery, the Estonian-service Steyr truck) plus a private commission (which is such a pitty as I really liked how it turned out). This allowed me to get a new drawing tablet (I already had one, but it was so old that the pencil did not even work properly), so, I am going to need some time to get used to it and leave the mouse at last (or at least, I hope so). So, what does exactly mean? Am I going to stop uploading things? No, not exactly, but I will do so with "archive" drawings, most of them belonging to the Pixel Marshal's forum game Eudaimonia, and, where am I trying to get? Well, basically, this means pixel art, not exactly what most of you are actually following me for I

Love your work man! what program do you use and what do you recommend for someone who is a beginner? I have alot of side profile line art that I would like to color up and make digital. Anything helps!

Thank you!

Answering your question, I use Paint dot Net (PdN) to make all the images you see in my gallery (although I recently got a graphic tablet and I am trying to get used to working with it, and if I do so, plan to switch to Clip Studio)

About what I recomend, anything is fine, is just getting used to the program you choose to work with. But, also depends on what you are trying to do, if you are aiming to do pixel art or you don't intend to do complicated things, PdN works like a charm (by complicated things I mean like trying to make an angled insignia or the numerals, for the SH3 you can see in the main page, I had to ask a friend to adjust it with Photoshop because both the original tool and plugins are a pain to work with); if you want to do more standard digital art, like illustrations or you work with a tablet, I would recomend either good ol' Photoshop or Clip Studio, although both are paid programs, so, if you only want to try it out, I'd go with Paint dot Net or GiMP if you like a Photoshop-like program. I know people who work with it, and they don't have anything to envy to works done with Photoshop.

For me it would be things like aircraft, vehicle, and ship side profiles. I have looked at pixel art and would be interested in doing it but mostly it's standard digital art like what you did with the submarine you recently did (which was awesome by the way!). I will definitely look at Clip Studio and GIMP which has been suggested by another Deviantartist here.

I really appreciate your helpand look forward to seeing what you have in store for us viewers in the future!

When you come back, please submit your gorgeous military art to the gallery of our active group on this thematic  https://www.deviantart.com/arsmilitaria/ !

To make your job easier I've collected the desired items here in a favorites collection with your username: https://www.deviantart.com/orphydian/favourites/86678647/levanthera

Please take your time and submit them from your end to our group gallery! I can't do it myself since I'm mostly out of submissions these days as a group founder (10 per day is nothing).

If you have speed paints, tutorials etc. on this thematic please let me know! You can also join us! Let me know if you don’t know how to do any of this or you having difficulties being on mobile!

Sure! I don't mind at all, just tell me under what cathegories do you want them!

It seems I gave you the wrong links. Wrong group and wrong collection. Strange, they have the right naming though. Anyway, here it is the right collection: https://www.deviantart.com/orphydian/favourites/86678647/levanthera

and here is our group: https://www.deviantart.com/arsmilitaria

Ive sent request from my side for the ships and submarine from this collection. Pls accept those and submit the rest from your end !

Pls submit them in the Warmachines-Terestrial and Warmachines- Aerial folder

Thanks for the favorite! I'm new here, so appreciate the love :)
